Grateful Afrika is a non-profit organization aimed at being an efficient and trusted partner in the global fight against poverty and infectious diseases in subsaharan Africa. As it is well known, poverty and illiteracy are the main raisons why people living in sub-saharan Africa continue to suffer from infectious diseases, including AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Beside those, other infectious diseases such as Buruli ulcer and Ebola fever are spreading, leading to an even more complex problem. It has been clearly established that diseases such as AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria lead to poverty and poverty creates a breeding ground for diseases. Our ambition is to break the vicious cycle of poverty-illiteracy-ignorance-diseasespoverty by providing adequate support for education, healthcare and biomedical research. Finally, our mission is to empower local populations through educational and informative interventions. We believe that once the local population is educated and they are given a sense of ownership, this will increase their level of success. Our programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the targeted areas while enhancing the Millennium Development Goal.
