Reduce Poverty

>> Rollback Malaria

Stop AIDS

Erradicate Tuberculosis

Reduce Poverty

Do you know the main factor of poverty?

We firmly believe it?s illiteracy. As you all know by now, Africa is lagging behind all other continents in poverty rate and pandemics of all kinds. Even diseases such as Malaria and Tuberculosis, just to name a few that are eradicated in developed nations, are still challenges on the continent. Over the years, and until today rich nations and some NGOs have invested in aids whenever there was a disease or hunger outbreak. Yet as one praises all those efforts, Grateful Africa believes that more help should be geared toward some preemptive actions such as education. Yes, Grateful Africa believes the sure way to fight all the above calamities is to tackle illiteracy by investing in the younger generation in a proactive way.

Who Are We ?

GREATFUL AFRICA is not for profit organization [501 (C) (3)] aimed at being an efficient and trusted partner in the global fight against poverty and diseases in sub-Saharan Africa.

Why is the need so great right now?

Children are our future and an educated child is more likely to be productive for society instead of being an eternal dependant. We are no longer living confined in our own world, but instead in a global village that no longer has a delimitation. An outbreak such the bird flu from Asia is spreading slowly but surely throughout the world. The best prevention in this case and any other pandemic to come is data sharing; expertise being shifted to the outbreak area to prevent further spreading. This teaches us a lesson that a better prevention is inevitably the offensive. In the global community where we all live, rich nations should adjust their strategies for future challenges of any magnitude. We?re living in the information age but such an era is far from being reachable by sub-Saharan African countries. The basic tools (computers, printers, etc) are not affordable by nearly 98% of the population. In most cases children, who are lucky to be enrolled in the first grade until the end of their studies, will never see or touch a computer. Those left out kids will never have the opportunity to share ideas with their counterparts from rich countries, and will become the same adults not being capable of looking after themselves. They will therefore be exposed to disease and hunger.. so anytime there?s an outbreak in those countries it?s mostly unstoppable. So making those tools accessible to the masses may be beneficial for the donors. Countries that received aid will be able to take care of themselves, exchange better with their counterparts to make our global village livable. This can be translated in the long term into needing less help from donors because the people will be less ignorant and more self-sufficient and therefore break the continuing cycle of ignorance, helplessness, and exposure to disease.

How can you help?

Any tool whether used or new (PC, Mac, printers, scannerfax ?or books.) that you donate will help us create a productive citizen. You donations empower us to do all that we do because an educated citizen will enrich our society, therefore make it a better place to live.

How will your tax-deductible gift be used?
Rest assured, the most will be made of every piece of equipment you donate. Donations will be geared towards grammar schools, high schools, university libraries...etc., in sub- Saharan Africa. Help us narrow the learning gap. For doing so you will help reduce poverty rate, eradicate hunger and reduce the pandemic rate on the continent. We know you?ll be proud of the outcome. We thank you for your support and your concern. On behalf of African kids, Grateful Africa thanks you.

With hope for a better future.
